Prepare the drawing

Use one humanlike character on plain white paper. Show the complete head, body, arms, and legs without overlapping limbs. Photograph it straight on with even light and no shadows, folds, private information, offensive material, or protected characters.

Upload and crop

Open the Animated Drawings demo, accept the current terms, upload the image, and crop around the character. The system detects the figure and separates it from the background.

Correct the mask

Use the pencil and eraser controls to add missing character areas or remove background fragments. Clean separation around hands, feet, and hair usually improves motion.

Check the joints

Place the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles on the drawing. Incorrect joints create stretched or disconnected limbs, so preview and adjust before choosing an action.

Select and download an animation

Try walking, dancing, jumping, or other available motions. Some drawings will not animate naturally because the demo has a limited motion set. Download the result only after checking the whole loop.

Privacy, rights, and limitations

Meta’s current demo warns against identifiable or sensitive information and infringing characters. Its terms state that uploads may be deleted within 90 days and the research demo may not be used commercially. It is also unavailable to some users based on age or location. Read the live terms before uploading.

Verdict

Animated Drawings is a fun educational demo for simple sketches, not a general commercial animation generator. A clean isolated figure and carefully placed joints matter more than prompt writing.
